I am proud to report that my first week of the Weekly Grind project was successful. This is a traditional Dalek from the series Dr. Who. The orange glass for the body is a round texture and the white background glass has a slight yellow/brown streak running through it. I was able to try a new patina technique as well. I really like the way the copper patina turned out, it makes the piece look a little steam punky. If I were to do it all over again, I would try and make the Dalek a stand alone piece to avoid the super tricky jagged cuts in the neck. I think a Tardis is in order for the next weekly grind project.

Awesome! Love the Doctor Who theme. Coincidently, my partner and I just took a stained glass class in October and are thinking of doing a series of geek designs. Love the nintendo controller as well.
It looks like you are doing copper foil, have you worked with lead came?
Thanks! I have done lead came work in the past and I enjoyed it. I even considered doing the transformers pieces in lead at one time but the advantages of copper foil won out. Copper foil is great too when you are first starting out. As my teacher once said; you could fill the grand canyon with lead if you needed to.
